Three Swans Studios – New Design Announcement/Fall 2007

November, 2007 Three Swans Studios is pleased to announce the release of a new appliqué pattern and two new stained glass appliqué patterns:

v Winterberries (TSS 3043): a beautiful and very easy-to-appliqué wreath and table runner. Pick your favourite, rich, winter colours and enjoy! You will look forward to using these pieces in your home year after year.

v Dragonfly Paradise (TSS 2026): a large stained glass pattern of a dragonfly amidst ginkgo leaves. This Arts & Crafts inspired design will be sure to grace your home with a beauty that hints at an idea of paradise.

v Mermaid Song (TSS 2027): a large stained glass pattern of a gorgeous swimming mermaid calling out in song. This design is perfect for those beautiful fabrics we love for no other reason than that they make us think of water in all its beauty and fascinating variety.

The Collection

Our Three Swans Studios collection of patterns includes stained glass and appliqué designs and our needlework line to date consists of designs for punch needle. Our stained glass appliqué and appliqué pattern lines continue to grow with these new additions and we have hand embroidery designs in the works to add to our needlework line. All of our stained glass appliqué patterns are complete images and full size (no flipping, rotating or enlarging necessary) and come with comprehensive and easy to follow instructions for both machine sewn reverse appliqué and a truly fast and accurate quick-fuse method. In addition all of these patterns are drawn with a broken line down the centre of the stained glass “lead” lines which can be used as a guide for a bias binding technique. Our appliqué patterns are also complete and full size and come with instructions for our very easy, fast and accurate quick-fuse technique and our favourite hand appliqué method. Our punch needle patterns include concise instructions to transfer the design and work the project and, in addition to the listing of the threads used for the version of the design on our cover, we list three alternative thread colour combinations which could be used.

About Three Swans Studios

Three Swans Studios is comprised of two sisters, Joan Bouwmeester and Debbie Bouwmeester-Fasek, who work out of studios in different parts of Canada. Joan is in Ottawa and has a background in the visual arts with particular interests in painting and drawing. Debbie is in Edmonton and her background and interests are in fiber arts – particularly embroidery and sewing. We formed Three Swans Studios seven years ago and, by pooling our diverse talents and interests, are able to bring you some of the most delightful and beautiful patterns imaginable.
